Groom was the 3rd employee hired at AnnuityNet, the first company to develop online sales of variable annuities. The company, with financing arranged by Goldman Sachs and GE equity and large insurance companies as investors, was later sold to Ebix. Groom was in charge of the website and developing complex online financial tools. The back end developed at AnnuityNet is now used to power about 25,000 transactions a month representing $2 billion in premium, and is used by all the major insurance companies in the US.
Groom’s first patent, “System and Method for Organizing, Exploring, and Relating Online Content”, was granted in 2018. The patent for “Alternate Search Methodology” was issued in March of 2021. A third patent, MULTI-DIMENSIONAL INTERACTION WITH DATA STORES RELATED TO TANGIBLE PROPERTY is pending.
In addition to the patents, Groom Ventures also owns an extensive library of intellectual property, including domain names, trademarks, copyrights, websites, apps, artwork, and original images.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][monolit_carousel_slider_multiimgs items=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
